Adventures of the Doars...
We started out the year with a great vacation to Northern
New Hampshire to visit Kirstie’s grandparents.
It's always a treat to escape to the Pine Knob Farm.
We were also saddened to hear that Kirstie's grandpa in
Scotland has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Kirstie's parents and sister are out there now visiting them this
Christmas.
We wish Russell the best, and
our prayers are with him as he embarks on the difficult journey of treatment.
The most exciting and life-changing thing to happen this
last year was the birth of our 2nd child, and first son, Mateo Zacheeus Doar. It was a joyous time for us, but was also a
source of much worry and heartache.
Just hours after being born, Mateo's health began to decline. He had a group B strep infection that caused
bacterial meningitis. After being at 3
different hospitals, Mateo's infection began to clear, and after almost a
month, we finally got to bring our new boy home. Thanks one more to all of the friends and
family that helped us through that difficult time with your prayers and moral
support. The situation would have been
much harder for us without your support.
Shortly after Mateo's birth, we moved to Bloomington to our
old college campus. This
gave us some
much needed space while we house hunt, and a nice 2 mile drive for Rob
to work. This location is a great location for us, and has been
an awesome time to connect with old friends.

Rob is continuing his work in IT at Pearson VUE, and Kirstie
is busy at home with the kids. Bela is
quickly learning her ABC's and is starting to read. Mateo is growing like a weed, and is in the
upper 90%isles in his development. We
are considering a name change to Goliath.
Believe it or not, after over a year, our house hunt
continues. We have had a total of 7
offers written, and 4 offers accepted. Of
those 4, 3 failed inspection, and the most recent house, a short sale, went
into foreclosure after the sellers went off the radar. Yesterday (Christmas Eve day) we heard that
the house will be entering the market as a foreclosure this weekend. We have an offer written, and are hoping that
this will be the one. Well, that is the Reader's Digest version of our life this year, of course there is much more that has happened, so why not contact us, and we can have you over for dinner to catch up! We hope you had a great year, and that 2010 will be even better.
Merry Christmas!
~Love Rob, Kirstie, Bela, and Mateo.
